1959

KMUTNB, was established from the constructive cooperation between the Thai Government and the Federal Republic of Germany, it was initially known as the 5North Bangkok Technical School6 but generally called "Thai-German Technical School."
1961-1966

1964

The School was upgraded to North Bangkok Technical College
1967-1971

1971

Three technical colleges, North Bangkok Technical College, Thonburi Technical College,
and Telecommunication College Nonthaburi were merged and given a new name DKing Mongkut's
Institute of Technology which had three campuses, North Bangkok, Thonburi, and Ladkrabang.
1972-1976

1974

The Establishment of the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Technical Education and
Science and also the Vice President's Office.
1978-1982

1981

The establishment of the College of Industrial Technology and Institute for Technical Education Developments
1983-1987

1986

King Mongkut's Institute of Technology was separated into three autonomous
Universities namely:
  - King Mongkut's Institute of Technology North Bangkok
  - King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang
  - King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Thonburi
  - Establishment of the Graduate College
1988-1992

1988

KMUTNB upgraded some organizational units for educational expansion purpose:
  1. The Vice President's Office was changed to "The President's Office"
2. The Department of Sciences in the Faculty of Technical Education and Science was changed to "The Faculty of Applied Science" and the Faculty of Technical Education and Science was changed to "The Faculty of Technical Education"
3. The Library Section in the Academic Service Division became "The Central Library."

Thai-French Innovation Centre.

1995

KMUTNB extended it's Educational Obligations to the Rural Areas, leading to the creation
of the Prachinburi Campus in Prachinburi Province.

1996

Faculty of Industrial Technology and Management in Prachinburi and Institute of Computer and Information
Technology in Bangkok.
1997-2001

2001

Faculty of Information Technology, in Bangkok
2002-2005

2002

Faculty of Applied Arts in Bangkok

2003

Faculty of Agro-Industry, in Prachinburi

The Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS), in Bangkok
2006-2009

2007

Science and Technology Research Center was promoted to "Science and Technology Research Institute"
King Mongkut's Institute of Technology North Bangkok was renamed "King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok and became an autonomous state university

2008

Thai-French Innovation Centre (TFIC) was promoted to Thai-French Innovation Institute
2010-2011

Faculty of Architecture and Design, in Bangkok.
